Abstract The use of offshore wind farms in Europe to provide a sustainable alternative energy source is now considered normal. Particularly the North Sea, large number exist with significant distance from coast. This becoming standard practice as larger areas are required support operations. Efficient transport and monitoring these can only be conducted using helicopters. As turbines continue grow size, there need continuously update operational requirements for helicopters, ensure safe study assesses German regulations flight corridors within farms. A semi-empirical turbine wake model used generate velocity data research simulator AVES. reference NREL 5 MW has been scaled represent different sizes. paper reports result simulation concerning vortex encounter during results have obtained through piloted case farm. Both subjective objective measures assess severity encounters.
